Sree's Top Three Movie Sites
Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003

This segment brings you quick, easy-to-use information each Saturday morning at 7:45 on TV and on Friday night right here on 7online.com.

This week: Movie websites.

Start by visiting these three sites:
  • Oscar.com: The official site of the Oscars, hosted on WABC, has lots of information on the current nominees, plus, of course, previous winners, trivia and more.
  • IMDB.com: This is the best movie site for keeping track of movies and learning about more than 500,000 actors, directors, etc.
  • AintItCool.com: This gossipy site has become one of the most popular movie stops online. Find out in advance what's going on at movie sets and what the buzz is.

Bonus site: Oracle of Bacon: You know a site called the "Oracle of Bacon" (Kevin Bacon, that is) is going to have some unusual material. Based on the "six degrees of Kevin Bacon" game (trying to link a Hollywood actor to Bacon in the shortest number of movies), the Star Links game allows you to connect any two actors or actresses to each other. For example, I tried to connect Clint Eastwood (one of my favorite Hollywood action hero) with Amitabh Bachchan (Indian cinema's biggest star). They were connected in two steps: Bachchan was in Lagaan (2001) with David Gant. Gant was in Firefox (1982) with Eastwood.
